Top 10 WordPress Plug-Ins

I have chosen these plug-ins to fix many common & critical issues with new WordPress websites. This more like a top 10 most needed plug-ins. When I create any site the first thing to do is get all of these plug-ins running. Each one has it’s own benefits that I can’t do without. These plug-ins will fix many issues with spam, security, on page SEO, sitemaps, social sharing and caching.

Top 10 WordPress Plug-Ins:

Copy the name of the plug-in and paste it into the search box inside add new plug-in in your WP Plugins Section. Download and activate each plug-in, most require minimal setup.

#1 Google XML Sitemaps v3 for qTranslate By: DSmidgy, NeoEGM, Arne Brachhold – This Plug-in is a must have. Google requires your site to have a sitemap and this plug-in makes it an absolute breeze. In my opinion having your sitemap designed specifically designed for Google makes the most sense.

#2 All in one SEO Pack By: Michael Torbert – This plugin adds a section at the bottom of each internal page and post to add a title, description & keywords. All in one also fixes some minor SEO errors like Robots text and page indexing. This is imperative when you are SEOing your content. I have chosen not to use WordPress SEO by Yeost because I prefer to have specific plug-ins for my individual needs because each issue is more specifically addressed.

#3 W3 Super Cache By: Donncha O Caoimh – This plug-in is a requirement of your websites SEO. Super Cache makes an optimized version of each page that makes load time super fast!

#4 Broken Link Checker By: Janis Elsts – Searches your entire site for bad links and reports it to your email. It also has an admin panel reporter with an easy fix area.

#5 EP Social Widget By: Mattias Hedman – Gives you buttons that link directly to your Facebook and Twitter home pages.

#6 ShareBar By Monjurul Dolon РThis plug-in gives you like and share buttons for Facebook, Twitter and others with lots of features. This plug-in is a must! Getting people to like and share your page will broaden your social market.

#7 Akismet By: Automattic – Rejects most spam on comment sections. This plug-in comes with WordPress just activate and go. It needs an activation key to get started.

#8 Contact form 7 By: Takayuki Miyoshi – Very easy to use contact form, comes with WP. I also highly recommend Really Simple CAPTCHA By: Takayuki Miyoshi This will keep the comment form spam to a minimum, and it’s easy to use for the form user.

#9 P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler) By: GoDaddy.com – This is a great plug-in created by GoDaddy. It assesses your website’s plug-in impact and displays an easy to understand graph. If you have a plug-in eating up your load time, you will see it with this plug-in.

#10 WooCommerce By: WooThemes – This in my opinion is the best shopping cart available for WordPress.

    Great article!

    I would strongly consider using a fast loading social plugin for sharing/like/bookmarks. I believe this part most of the plugin developers are missing. Do consider page speed and yslow score will affect SEO.

    W3 super cache is excellent plugin! We have some troubles with online ordering on one of our websites and everything is ok now thanks to this plugin.
    Great list, i will check out the other plugins too.
